YOUTH APPRECIATION
"Youth
Appreciation projects are intended to make children feel important and
highlight their positive contributions to society. Since 1956, this program
has given Optimist Clubs the opportunity to work with youth toward the
common goals of education, career development, physical well-being and
community service"
4TH GRADE "MOST IMPROVED
BOY AND GIRL"
Each school in
Grand Prairie (both public and private) are requested to select the boy and
girl from their 4th grade class who have made the most improvement in
school since the beginning of the school year. The Optimist Club of Grand
Prairie then contacts the parents and invites them to a special night when
their child will be recognized and given a framed certificate, a medallion
and a "goodie bag" to honor them for a job well done and to
encourage them to keep working hard in school. (2011 Photos)

BOY AND GIRL"
Each school in
