YOUTH APPRECIATION

"Youth Appreciation projects are intended to make children feel important and highlight their positive contributions to society. Since 1956, this program has given Optimist Clubs the opportunity to work with youth toward the common goals of education, career development, physical well-being and community service"

4TH GRADE "MOST IMPROVED BOY AND GIRL"

Each school in Grand Prairie (both public and private) are requested to select the boy and girl from their 4th grade class who have made the most improvement in school since the beginning of the school year. The Optimist Club of Grand Prairie then contacts the parents and invites them to a special night when their child will be recognized and given a framed certificate, a medallion and a "goodie bag" to honor them for a job well done and to encourage them to keep working hard in school.    (2010 Photos)
